We suffered enormous damage from the torrential rains in northern Kyushu in July 2012. We received warm support from all over the nation. Thanks to that support, we were able to achieve the restoration and reconstruction goals, and after five years, we completed all restoration work. I am very pleased to publish this guide to the city as a symbol of the start of Yame,which achieved reconstruction after the disaster. We are proud of the rich nature, history, and culture, a number of valuable traditional crafts, and the rich agricultural and forestry products handed over by our ancestors, and we should protect these valuable treasures in the future. In this guide, we have introduced “creators” who have produced and developed Yame’s treasures. We will hand over the beautiful and rich native province of Yame together with our hospitality to the next generation.
